The Master of Meunier strikes again with his "Cuvee Prestige" Champagne, a NV sparkler with loads of barrel fermented old vine Meunier blended with young bright and fresh Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Aged on the lees for eight years, this bubbly's rich, soft, and plushy fruit forward style is balanced by it's autolytic character. On the nose and in the mouth, olive tapenade, lemon-lime, tangerine, and cherry. At our most recent in-store Champagne tasting, the Cuvee Prestige was the lineup's sleeper hit! What an interesting an intricately crafted champagne from the "Master of Meunier" Gilbert Jacquesson! Almost half of it is 10 year old reserve meunier that was barrel fermented, balanced by younger and very fresh Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. It has beautiful and intense nectarine, citrus and rainier cherry fruit with equally intense acidity and a lovely toasty element from the extended aging.
