Review Date: 10/2015The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Samantha's is shaping up to be a real gem. Vibrant and explosive, the 2013 is a terrific example of the year. The flavors are dark, bold and incisive, but the 2013 has a sense of total harmony I have rarely seen here before. This dark, brooding Cabernet is going to need time in bottle, but it is super-impressive, even today. (AG)

The other red wine Leslie Rudd makes with his daughter Samantha is their Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Samantha’s has a dark color, notes of tobacco leaf and blackberries, a touch of espresso, and a rich, full-bodied, luscious style. This is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, although some Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec are added. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2038. (RP)
