The 2013 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet is a super expressive and beautifully structured knockout. It leads with alluring aromas of bay laurel, tobacco, and sagebrush. Polished, velvety tannins are balanced by elegant blackberry and boysenberry fruit, nuanced with black liquorice, graphite, tobacco, and spicy charcuterie. Blood orange acidity brings lift while the wine gathers intensity through its lingering black tea finish. The blend includes 1% Malbec. (JC)
