Yum! Launois Rose "Valentine" impressive and inviting nose. It shows a wide variety of tree fruits, wild berries and spices in the aromatics. Fuji apple, raspberry, black currant and a spice rack of pink peppercorn and dried hibiscus. Small delicate beads and lingering flavor, this is a delicious rose champagne. A Pinot Noir made in the signature creamy, elegant style that has made Launois beloved by customers and staff alike. A wine of great finesse, with floral and raspberry notes and delicate bubbles. It is perfection with a summer nectarine caprese salad.
Notes
This wine is the same Launois Rosé that we have carried before, but now it is renamed after the eighth generation, Valentine Launois. This is an unusual offering from Launois, as everything else that we have ever carried from them is all Chardonnay, and this is 100% Pinot Noir. The grapes are harvested from their estate in the Sézanne, a chalky piece of Champagne isolated from the rest by miles of cow grazing land. It is full bodied and loaded with fruit, and perfect for pairing for the bounty of an Indian food dinner. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne Buyer)
