Jean-Jacques Lamoureux Brut Rosé Champagne
I have only been down to Riceys at the southern tip of Champagne twice. Vivien Lamoureux’s vineyards are only three miles away from the border, and he makes both Champagne and Burgundy. Due to French law, they are produced in different cellars on their respective sides of the boarder. In the past, Les Riceys seemed switched hands between the Comtes de Champagne and the Dukes of Burgundy to many times to count, and that split heritage is very evident in Vivien’s Chamapgne! If you love full bodied rose with plenty of Burgundian Pinot Noir flavor, this one is not to be missed!

Notes
Composed of 100% Pinot Noir with a two-day maceration on the skins for maximum color and flavor. This full-bodied rosé is perfect for a first course of smoked salmon, or even a main course of the same fish grilled. If you are patient with this wine, and let it warm up a little bit after opening it, you may be surprised at how much depth and complexity it has. Don't let the initial exuberant fruit fool you — there is a lot behind this dry Brut rosé!
