Champagne Fallet-Dart's Reserve is one of our top values in Champagne. It is a rich, toasty style which earned its brioche aromas and flavors the old fashioned way, with time on the lees. It is aged for four years and has the additional benefit of 1/3 reserve wines to make this a smooth customer with a perfect bead. This round, full bodied Champagne is generous in every way, and does not have an austere bone in its body. The finish is dry, long and makes me want to come back for more!

Pale gold color. Crisp nose of pie crust and slight citrus. Coats the palate with cream of wheat and gives a slight smokiness. Dry finish.

This is a bigger, more generous style of Champagne made mostly from Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir, and you really feel that weight and warmth. On the nose, it’s like walking into a bakery—baked apple, toasted brioche, and hazelnuts. The palate is broad and full, but not heavy—it’s lifted by a bright core of citrus and fine bubbles. There’s a little edge of bitterness and minerality that keeps everything in check and gives the finish some grip. It’s a great example of a rounder, more savory Champagne that still feels fresh.

There's a really lovely quality to the leesy-ness on this, it's like a well-toasted piece of brioche. There's also apple butter, very light bits of a lemony chalk and a little bit of orange zest. The palate is crisp and delicious, really nice throughline of acid running through the whole palate, but it's not too much for those who are afraid of an acidic bite, it's a little more soft and gentle. This is a great bottle of approachable and shareable Champagne that will please a wide range of palates, exactly the kind of bottle you need to reach for when you aren't quite sure what to get.

Notes

Although not labeled as such, this is a Blanc de Noir composed of 60% Meunier and 40% Pinot Noir. It is aged for over four years on the lees and dosed at about ten grams per liter. It has a lovely combination of spiced pear, pie crust, and black cherry on the very generous, open nose. The wine is broad, rich, and textural in the mouth, and has a persistent black fruit finish.
