Of all of the sub-50 dollar champagnes we have in stock right this moment, this is the one I'm taking home. Incredible vibrancy, amazing texture from it's seriously lengthy time on the lees, and some of the most elegant (fine) bubbles I've had in a long time. Although it's easy to consume, it's still a nicely complex Champagne that is filled with spice, and freshness in a lengthy finish. You can't go wrong with this as your party Champ!

Pale gold color. Nose of baguette & toast. Palate gives citrus, slight honey, pineapple guava and Meyer lemon. Fine bubbles and a nice finish.

Fallet-Dart has crafted champagne since 1610 so they must be doing something right! The latest release of their "Grand Selection" is the best one I've tasted since I started working at K&L in 2022. 70% Pinot Noir, 15% Meunier, and 15% Chardonnay, let's start with the extended lees aging - 6 years - giving the champagne beautiful leesy character that gives champagne-o-philes (now a word) who love autolytic character a real treat. Fermented in stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels. Powerful, elegant, and round, with aromas and flavors of brioche, ripe orchard and stone fruit, candied red fruit, nuts, fig, pepper, baking spices, hints of chalky minerality, and a long popping finish. A complex and distinctive champagne for under $40!
Notes
This all-estate Champagne is composed of 70% Pinot Noir, 15% Chardonnay, and 15% Meunier and aged for six years on the lees. It has very fine, brioche-like aromas from the long sur-lie aging, as well as savory and cherry notes from the high-quality Pinot. It is very rich and long in the mouth, with a fine bead, again from long aging.
