The straight 2013 Châteauneuf du Pape is a superb effort in the vintage. Strawberry, black raspberry, bubble gum and spring flowers are just some of the aromas here, and it has a non-2013 level of depth and richness on the palate. Give it a year or three once released and drink it through 2023. Easily one of my favorite estates, Saint Prefert is run by the talented Isabel Ferrando, who studied winemaking in Gigondas before releasing her first vintage from Châteauneuf du Pape in 2003.
