The 2012 Malescot St. Exupery is an exceptional showing in this vintage. Displaying a lovely dark color, this instantly begins to impress with its expressive aromas of blackberries and dark cherries woven together with espresso, damp soil, charcoal, sweet exotic spices and roasted herbs all bursting from the glass. On the palate this is medium-plus bodied with gorgeous velvety tannins that have softened up and are beautifully integrated. The 2012 has shaped up remarkablly well and turned out to be an absolutely outstanding wine from this vintage. (JD)
