Navarre makes one of the most amazing Cognacs in the world, and this lovely Pineau des Charentes is made from his 6 year old Grand Champagne stock, some sweet grape must, and then put into barrel for thirty years. Very few producers take PdC this seriously, but the result of that dedication and attention is on another level. The rich, nutty, complex palate of flavor is far beyond what most fortified wines offer. Consider this along the lines of the finest Madeiras or Ports. It must be tasted to be believed.
