***Top Cellar Selections of 2013*** While 2007 was not the greatest vintage, Roederer managed to produce one of the best wines of the year. It is a great blend of mature yellow fruits, with a pure line of tangy orange zest. Tightly txtured, with bright acidity and steely minerality, it promises long aging. Drink until 2025, and possibly longer. (RV)

Roederer’s exceptional farming comes through in 2007, ripening the fruit for this wine toward yellow apple, feeling fresh and persistent with a luscious, creamy intensity. Notes of cedar and linden add to the wine’s perfume, but it’s mostly about the grounded connection to the soil. Complete and complex, this may not be a long ager, but it’s a pretty great 2007.

Pale golden in color, the Roederer 2007 Vintage Brut offers a classic and highly elegant as well as intense and complex bouquet of tea, fruit and floral aromas indicating freshly cracked wheat grain, malt, ripe and slightly cooked apples, lime peels, quince, oranges and roasted almonds. The palate is pure, fresh, mineral, highly elegant, very vinous, complex and persistent. The aging potential is excellent here. (SR)

Light, bright yellow-gold. Potent, smoke-tinged citrus and orchard fruit aromas show very good clarity and an overlay of zesty minerals. Taut and sharply focused, offering Meyer lemon, orange and pear flavors and a hint of anise. Fleshier on the finish, which clings with very good tenacity and repeating smokiness. Very approachable, in the style of the vintage, but balanced to reward some cellaring. One-third of this wine was aged in oak. (JR)
