2005 Domaine Arlaud Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru

In much the same fashion as the '05 Bonnes Mares (see herein) this is remarkably forward and developed for both the vintage and in particular for the large format bottling as the complex and elegant red berry and earth-infused nose already displays some secondary development. There is both good richness and punch to the delicious, round and seductively textured medium weight flavors that deliver fine if not genuinely distinguished persistence. Note that while this should continue to reward a few more years of cellar time it would not be a serious error to open this now.
