2013 Harkham "Aziza's" Shiraz Hunter Valley (Sulphur Free / Natural Wine)
91
Int'l Wine Cellar
Review Date: 07/2014Brilliant ruby. Smoky cherry and blackberry scents are lifted by a minerally nuance and peppery spices. Sappy, penetrating and focused, offering sweet dark fruit and floral pastille flavors that gain weight with air. Refreshingly pure and lively on the finish, with the floral and spice notes strongly repeating.

Notes
Winemaker's Notes: "Hand harvested Shiraz grapes were gently fermented in the style of traditional producers from Southern France, the spiritual home of Shiraz. It has been bottled without the use of Preservatives (sulphur) or fining agents to convey the full flavours of the Hunter Valley. Blueberries crushed with a stone, backed with a subtle French oak spine. Brilliant ruby. Smoky cherry and blackberry scents are lifted by a minerally nuance and peppery spices. Sappy, penetrating and focused, offering sweet dark fruit and floral pastille flavors that gain weight with air. Refreshingly pure and lively on the finish, with the floral and spice notes strongly repeating." This winery is kosher, not the wine itself.
