There are 100,000 bottles of this beautiful sleeper of the vintage, which offers terrific value. The proprietor is the son of Bernard Magrez, who has crafted a blend of 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Cabernet Franc. Fruity and Bordeaux-like, with notes of tobacco leaf, blueberries, black raspberries and incense, this explosively fruity, delicious, complex wine is relatively easy to consume yet should continue to drink well for 7-8 years, if not longer. A forward, flattering style, offering quite lush raspberry and plum sauce flavors, with sweet toasted spice notes that are well-integrated in the fleshy, tobacco-tinged finish. A touch shy on grip in the end, but will have some fans for sure. (Web Only--2013) (JM)

The owner of Château Pape Clément also owns this little jewel of a property known for outstanding bargains vintage after vintage. There is plenty of deep and dark fruit along with touches of grilled herb and spice flavors in this hefty and substantial bottle that stays warm, sweet and plush. Amazing bang for the buck here.

Sleeper of the vintage, indeed! This $15 2010 Bordeaux is full of juicy red fruit, casis, oak spice, and coating tannins. Great value for a tasty any-day wine

Red plums, raspberry notes, generous spice and oak make this bargain Bordeaux stand out. It has enough of the "traditional" Bordeaux elements to please those traditionalists as well as enough fruit to make "New World" wine lovers happy. A great value that should please nearly everyone.

Notes

This Bernard Magrez wine is a great value. Plenty of structure and grip on the palate. Decant one hour and it evolves nicely. Quite spicy. This bargain is the perfect party wine -- a great crossover wine for California Cabernet lovers. It has strength but is finely balanced. (Clyde Beffa)
