Offers a rich core of licorice-laced black cherry, shaded by light toasty oak, cedar and mocha. The flavors gain depth, traction, length and tannins, filling out the palate. (JL)

Pale-medium red. Tighter and higher-pitched than the Stanly Ranch bottling, offering aromas of red fruits, rose petal and spices. Supple on the palate if less round and sweet than the Stanly Ranch, offering raspberry and strawberry flavors complicated by soil-driven flint and smoke notes and a faint herbal quality. Finishes classically dry, with dusty tannins. (ST)

Notes

Cherry Pie is the newest project from Jayson Woodbridge, owner of Hundred Acre and Layer Cake wines. The Carinalli vineyard was established in 1996 in the heart of the Russian River Valley.
