Reviewed October 2014The dried-mango and pineapple character is so delicious in this wine. It’s full-bodied and medium-sweet, with a pretty density and a fruity finish. Wonderful balance to this super Sauternes. This is a little in reserve now, with so much for the future.

A big, broad, powerful style, with piecrust, roasted almond and hazelnut cream notes framing the core of apricot, creamed peach and dried mango. Picks up extra fig and pear details through the toasty finish. Needs a bit of time to finish sorting itself out. (JM)

Bright yellow-gold. Knockout nose offers poached pear, honeyed mango, guava, baking spices and saffron, complicated by very pure, smoky, marmalady botrytis. Sweet, dense and very rich, boasting a compelling creamy texture and outstanding depth to its guava and mandarin orange flavors. Lively, harmonious acidity gives the middle palate a laser-like precision. Finishes bright and long, with lingering notes of baked apple and pear. An outstanding Suduiraut. (ID)

Heady apricot and mango nose. Concentrated and creamy, with density and weight of fruit. The oak is integrated and the wine is harmonious in a rich rather than racy style. Long. (SB)

Frankly, I am not much of a dessert wine guy. I don't actually even particularly like sweets. A basket of pomme frites or a cheese platter are always my downfall. However, this vintage of Suduiraut is the BOMB! It is so, so, so, so, so delicious and not over-the-top sweet. Lush with pineapple fruit, maraschino cherry, honey and nougat, Wonderful background acidity that keeps it from being too sticky sweet. What a marvelous way to end our staff Bordeaux tasting!
