The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Abel Vineyard is 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Petit Verdot that was made with native yeast fermentation and malo. The 2008 Abel emphasizes richness and sheer weight. Dark fruit, mocha, espresso and copious French oak play off each other well. Still, this is an overdone style that doesn’t quite seem in sync with the best wines here.
