Lots of caramel coats the palate at first, followed by dry leather and a malty note, finishing with a gentle waft of light smoke. (KN)

Beeswax candles, wafers in vanilla ice cream, dried apricots, a strand of garden bonfire smoke, dried-out wedges of honeydew melon, and fruit shortcake cookies. The palate revels in barley sugar, active spices, lime, orange, and grapefruit peel, and it's beautifully weighted with fudge and vanilla sponge cake. Email JeffreyThe Gold Reserve offers a nice supple richness that is hard not to like. It is soft and round with a delicate honey like influence and is very easy to drink and enjoy.
