2012 Louis M. Martini Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon
CG
Connoisseurs Guide
Review Date: 08/2014Juicy, young, mildly curranty fruit is played against touches of toasted herbs, vanilla and bit of cranberry pertness first in the nose and again in the flavors of this very steady, slightly frontal, yet consistently focused working, and, while it is never as deep or ambitious as the best of its cousins, it is a tasty, nicely made Cabernet that delivers lots of varietal bang for the buck.

Notes
In 2012, more than half of the fruit for Louis Martini's Cabernet Sauvignon came from their own estate vineyards in Sonoma County. The quality of the vintage has realized an incredible value in this entry-level Cabernet with this fruit-forward yet nicely structured wine with modest alcohol and a food-friendly profile. From the winery: "Our 2012 Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of the unique characteristics from several vineyards, creating a superbly balanced Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine has ripe flavors of black plum jam and black currant, a reflection of the warmer vintage. Hints of oak and a touch of baking spice support the fruit."
