Bernard Gros' 1990 Richebourg is similar in style to the 1990 Clos de Vougeot. An amazingly rich, voluptuous, thick, chewy wine, it is bursting with black fruits and toasty new oak. This opulent, viscous, well-endowed wine requires several years of cellaring, but will provide magical drinking over the following 10-12 years. (RP)

The 1990 Gros Frère Richebourg is one of the best vintages of this wine that I have tasted. The nose is a touch closed and though not clearly Richebourg, it is quite good, offering up notes of plums, cassis, smoke, herb tones, and toasty oak. On the palate the wine is fullish, a touch chunky and anonymous, but with good mid-palate depth and really quite impressive length and grip on the finish. Quite an impressive vintage for Gros Frère Richebourg, this wine should really blossom with a couple more years bottle age. Drink between 2006-2025.

Classic Richebourg nose with copious amounts of Vosne spice and rich, long flavors underpinned by solid, ripe tannic structure. Despite the young vines, this shows good concentration and fine balance with better than average length.
