This line of Mead, for me, are up at the top tier of the best that I've ever had, including those I sampled in the UK. Unfortunately, my first tasting of Mead took place at a number of RenFaire's years ago. Those were really, really bad but, fit the bill at the time. We weren't too picky while dressed in velvet and high boots. Those times definitely changed for the better when I had Mead such as the ones produced by Heidrun. They key is the wonderful acidity and floral (and juicy) delicate orange flavors. The Mead begs to be enjoyed on a sunny afternoon with fresh crisp veggies, fried chicken or even a nice pork chop. Of course, it is perfectly fun and delicious on its own!
