Reviewed November 2011Like Domaine Mugnier’s version, the 2010 Roumier les Amoureuses is an absolutely haunting beauty. The brilliant nose offers up a magically pure mélange of red plums, cherries, chalky minerality, blood orange, woodsmoke, gamebirds, mustard seed, raw cocoa and a beautiful topnote of roses. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and stunningly refined, with a sappy core of fruit, magical complexity, fine-grained tennis and stunning length and grip on the seamless and heavenly finish. Just a brilliant, brilliant wine. (Drink between 2020-2080) 96+

Int'l Wine Cellar
Good full deep red. Great lift and perfume to the aromas of blueberry, minerals, lilac and white pepper. Silky and utterly seamless, but with terrific sappiness and finesse to the blackberry, floral, mineral and earth flavors. Sweeter today than the Ruchottes-Chambertin; delivers an uncanny combination of gracefulness and power. The extremely long, rising finish leaves the taste buds quivering with piquant soil-driven minerality and high-pitched flowers. A classic 2010 beauty. (ST)

Wine Spectator
Well-marked by spicy oak, this rich red shows floral, cherry, raspberry and saline flavors. Tightly wound, yet seamless and aristocratic, with a lingering aftertaste of cherry and mineral. Best from 2018 through 2038. (BS)

The 2010 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses was racked just one week prior to my visit and therefore was not showing the full breadth of its personality. Sweet, intensely perfumed notes waft gradually from the glass, but today I can’t say my impression is fully formed. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2035. (AG)
