Review Date: 12/2012

The appropriately named 2010 Cherry Pie offers up juicy red cherries, mint, cinnamon and cloves. In this vintage, the Cherry Pie has tons of energy and minerality to support the racy, sleek fruit. Sweet floral notes add lift on the finish. The 2010 is a gorgeous, exuberant Cherry Pie with great balance and overall harmony. (AG)

An intense and vibrant Pinot, this displays tight, snappy black cherry and wild berry fruit, joined by touches of anise and cedar, with a dry, tannic finish. (JL)

Notes

Cherry Pie is another innovative offering from visionary winemaker Jayson Woodbridge, creator of Hundred Acre and Layer Cake Wines. Artist TR Colletta's painting of a fresh-out-of-the-oven cherry pie on the label of this wine is almost a mouthwatering, sensory experience, as surely is the wine inside. It comes from Stanly Ranch on the Napa side of the Carneros. Mostly fermented and aged in large French oak puncheons (a small amount was aged in stainless), it a fresh, ripe version of Pinot Noir, fruit-filled but not over-extracted.
