Vivid gold. Intense aromas of dried citrus fruits and pear, with deeper peach and honey nuances gaining strength in the glass. Deeply pitched and chewy in texture, offering broad orchard and pit fruit flavors and a hint of bitter citrus zest. Finishes with very good length and energy, leaving buttered toast and lees notes behind. (JR)

Elegant, with lovely texture and focused, lively acidity. Flavors of currant, candied lemon zest, honey and white peach lead to the creamy, biscuit-tinged finish. (AN)

A pale Champagne with bright scents of citrus balancing almond skin flavors, this is tightly focused by acidity with glints of limestone. The wine’s complex fruit esters finish with a sense of clarity. This will build on its richness with cellar time. (JR)

Email ScottRemember those old "don't hate me because I am beautiful" commericals? Well, the Belle Epoque bottlings are kind of like that. Iconic in packaging and yes, beautiful. So beautiful that the contents inside the bottle often get overlooked. In the case of this 2004 release, we have a "beautiful" nose that is delicate with cream, white flowers and stone fruits. In the mouth, peach, green apple, ginger and lemon flavors. Very clean with ample minerality. Sometimes, the prom queen is beautiful inside and out.
