Medium colour. Some maturity. On the nose intense, stylish, finely balanced and profound. Delicate, sweet, fragrant fruit. Lovely depth and harmony. Very fine indeed. (CC)

The 2008 Amoureuses chez Roumier is fantastic. The stunningly beautiful nose offers up scents of cherries, blood orange, beetroot, kaleidoscopically complex soil tones, a touch of coffee, mustard seed and a pungent topnote of white roses. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very tightly-knit, with a sappy core of red fruit, stunning transparency, very refined tannins and magical length and grip on the tangy and absolutely pure finish. A great wine that defines its greatness with elegance, rather than power. (Drink between 2020-2070)

The 2008 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses is sensual and inviting. Layers of endless, perfumed fruit grace the palate, followed by hints of white flowers, herbs, mint and rose petals. The wine continues to open up in the glass in an extraordinary display of class and elegance. A clean, inviting finish makes it impossible to resist a second taste. The energy, vibrancy and freshness are first-rate. (AG)

This is stunningly deep aromatically as the dazzlingly complex nose presents a completely different fruit and mineral profile with its highly spiced floral and blue and black fruit aromas that lead to delicious and seductively textured flavors that possess much more finesse as they dance across the palate before culminating in an intensely mineral-suffused finish that delivers simply terrific length. There is a hint of dryness present that is probably from the recent bottling. This doesn't have the sheer size and weight of its two bigger brothers but it's every bit as classy but it will still require at least a decade to be at its best. *Outstanding*
