Robert Parker's Wine Advocate had this to say: "After being assured that Graham Beck’s 2003 Syrah The Ridge (sourced from the Robertson district on the Western Cape) is indeed the current vintage in the marketplace, I was all the more surprised at how it has held up to time in the bottle. Scents of red raspberry, rose hip and saddle leather lead to a satisfyingly-concentrated, fine-grained, subtly smoky palate impression of cooked red fruits tinged with licorice, black tea, and vanilla. This finishes faintly stewy and warm (from its 14.5% alcohol) but otherwise with satisfying persistence." (08/08)
