Reviewed November 2024Sleek and minerally, this is satiny on the palate, with racy drive to the flavors of macerated raspberry, pomegranate puree, almond financier and pickled ginger. A zesty hint of blood orange granita lingers on the finish. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. (AN)

Excellent freshness to this delicately fruity and refreshing rosé Champagne. Notes of pomegranate, grapefruits, pink-berry fruit and a touch of fresh croissant. Lively and very drinkable. 45% pinot noir, 30% chardonnay and 25% meunier, including 14% red wine. Based on the 2021 vintage, with around 37% reserve wines. Drink now.

Ruinart's non-vintage rosé is always appealingly tuned to the slightly deeper side of Champagne's rosé spectrum, although it retains plenty of the snappy, Chardonnay-heavy DNA of the house, too. The sunny 2020 base year is full of sharp and sweet red plum, strawberry and tangerine, youthful and easy but admirably lithe. With peppery spice and rose petal complexity, it's a rosé that celebrates Pinot Noir juiciness yet transcends simplicity. (TH)

The latest rendition of Ruinart’s NV Brut Rosé evokes aromas of blood orange, red berries, flowers and pastry. Medium to full-bodied, round and supple, it’s elegant with a fleshy core of fruit, bright acids and a long, delicate finish. There’s no reason to wait. (YC)

Okay, I haven't written up a Chamapagne for a long time now, so I'm going to indulge myself. Ruinart has been around since 1729 and makes some of the best Blanc de Blanc and Rosé on the market. The Rosé is a wonderful example of a clean, somewhat delicate, classic style Rosé. Wonderful raspberry, strawberry notes with great depth, acidity and minerality. Well worth the money. Personally, I enjoy it by itself or with a mild, creamy cheese. No need to mask any of the flavors coming from this beauty.
Notes
From the oldest shipper of bubbly Champagne, this is a blend of 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay entirely from Grand and Premier Cru vineyards. About 18% of the Pinot is vinified red and blended in for the color and rosé flavor. It has a dark color, almost like blood orange juice, and a soft, full bodied texture. It is rich and satisfying, despite the deceptively high proportion of Chardonnay. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne buyer)
