Distilled in 1993, matured in American Bourbon casks and then enhanced in exclusive Italian wine casks form 6 different vineyards- Sassicaia American Oak, Bolgheri, Barbaresco, Barolo, Sassicaia French Oak and Brunello- a unique and elegant collection of 6 sophisticated Single Malts each with distinctive Italian flair.... Unusually some Sassicaia, the original "Super Tuscan", has been aged in American white Oak casks to emphasise the vanilla flavors. Marquis Incisa della Rochetta's was the first to embrace Bordeaux Cabernet Grapes and oak barriques in 1968. In shunning centuries of Italian tradition, the wine was outlawed to the lowest category- table wine. Selling at over $250 a bottle it was finally recognized with it's own appellation.
