Notes
90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Thevent’s 2006 Morgon Vieilles Vignes – matured in older barrique – reveals a gorgeous nose of cherry distillate, orange zest, and wood smoke. Toasted nuts and cherry pit lend a bitter side to the palate, nicely complementing the intensely ripe, sweet cherry fruit, and notes of black tea and honey add interest to a long, expansive, lush yet refreshing finish. Enjoy this over the next 3-5 years, but note that due to low sulfur levels, Thevenet’s Morgons need proper storage at all times." (08/08) Domaine Thevenet's Morgon is an amazing example of Cru Beaujolais, inspiring excited expletives from Anthony Ansemli, importer at Kermit Lynch. Candied strawberries and cinnamon stick on the nose and palate this wine is complex and fantastic!
