Reviewed February 2023The pale pink NV Brut Rosé Crémant d'Alsace Charles Baur is based on Pinot Noir from Eguisheim from 2019 and spent 18 months on lees. A gentle yeastiness with red apple flavors is countered by vivid freshness. Fine red apple fruit also characterizes the palate which is bright and light and slender but has pristine flavors and a lovely length. (AK)

I retasted this recently in one of our staff tastings and I was delighted. Lovely strawberry fruit and raspberry tones. Nice spice notes as well. This is now my favorite go-to aperitif bubbly.

One of the best Cremant Rose in our selection. It's crunchy, bright and packed with lovely raspberry and strawberry flavors with touch of saline mineral note on the finish. Perfect summer sipper!

Richly aromatic, toasted and yeasty. A full and thick bead and heavy mousse distinguish this sparkler from some of the other wines available in the price range. Definitely unique enough to satisfy the adventerous, but has something everyone can appreciate. Perfectly suited for a dessert pairing - although it's quite dry so choose its compliment carefully.
Notes
Most people outside of the region don't think about Alsace for sparkling wine, and neither did we until Armand Baur popped open a bottle of his Crémant d'Alsace on our very first visit. He actually said, "You probably have no interest in this, but maybe you would like to try?" Of course we said yes, all the while maintaining a stone cold business face. And the rest is history: we have been rocking this for many, many moons now and have been thrilled to do so. This gets its hue from Pinot Noir and is full of yeasty strawberry fruit and spice. It is a party wine but terrific any time, in any situation.
