The largely forgotten 1949 Cantemerle is one of Bordeaux's greatest efforts. It has been many years since I have tasted it. It is an extraordinary wine. I suspect well-stored examples are as hauntingly perfumed and as suave, velvety, and rich as they were twenty years ago.
