The new bottling of Taittinger Prestige Rosé non-vintage Brut is composed of a blend of fifty percent chardonnay, thirty percent Pinot Noir and twenty percent Pinot Meunier. It spent three years aging sur latte prior to disgorgement. Half of the Pinot Noir in the blend is vinified as still red wine. The wine offers up its classic deep salmon color and a lovely, vibrant nose of strawberries, blood orange, wheat toast, a fine base of chalky soil, delicate spice tones (nutmeg and a touch of saffron) and a touch of violets in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, crisp and nicely balanced, with a good core, refined mousse and fine length and grip on the zesty finish. This has excellent acidity and will age nicely, but is already drinking with style. (Drink between 2017-2030)

Orange zest, peaches and grilled nectarines on the nose. The palate delivers a gently spicy kick, with more strawberry and raspberry. A real riot of fruits. Drink now.

Taittinger's intensely colored NV Brut Prestige Rosé is a blend of 35% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Meunier (with 30% Reserve wines) that gets its raspberry color from 15% red Pinot Noir still wine sourced in the Montagne de Reims. Displaying raspberry and strawberry paté flavors on the subtle but aromatic nose, this is a very delicate, fresh and elegant Brut Rosé with a round but stimulatingly dry and finely grippy finish. It's not meant to be disparaging when I mention that some fruit drops flavors on the nose and finish and note it's toward the border of what I taste as dry. Tasted in November 2017 from a bottle that was said to be disgorged on February 15, 2017, after almost three years on the lees, with a dosage of nine grams per liter. (SR)

Light orange-pink. Cherry, orange zest and fresh rose aromas show very good clarity and energy. Sappy red fruit flavors display a spicy quality, picking up energy and a floral nuance with air. Concentrated, vibrant and precise, finishing on a zesty mineral note, with lingering spiciness and firm grip. (JR)

A blend of 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier. A large (15%) blend of still Pinot Noir in the mix. The nose has cherries, red boysenberries and fresh cream. Soft and lush on the palate with orange marmalade undertones. A great choice for people who like a slightly richer, more opulent style of brut rosé.
