One of the finest estates on the Left Bank, the grand vin of Château Margaux is well known for its longevity. The 1955 is no exception. Recent tasting notes from the winery: "1955 combined most of the characteristics that are necessary to make a great vintage, in particular, a hot, dry August and excellent conditions during the harvest. Château Margaux 1955 was a success: The wine is light in color. The bouquet is superb, the palate is perfectly harmonious. It lacks perhaps a bit more density that would justify describing it as a truly great vintage. It is perfect to enjoy now, but its development in bottle, and especially in magnum, could surprise us yet." (03/2017)
