Review Date: 06/2017A fraction more colour than La Cuvée. Smells of warm crème anglaise, brioche and peaches. Not awfully sweet tasting, considering all that residual sugar. Loosely woven. Biscuits and nectarines and late-harvest apples. Very appley and easy. But I'm not sure this is sweet enough for dessert. Possibly with fresh strawberries and a spoonful of mascarpone? (TC)

This non-vintage Champagne is composed of 45% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir and 15% Meunier and is exactly the same wine as the LP Brut, except for a big increase in dosage. Dosage is the sugar that is added after the yeast left over from the natural secondary fermentation in the bottle is removed. The Brut has about 12 grams per liter, while the demi-sec has 45 grams. This is perfect Champagne to have with dessert and an elegant way to treat a sweet tooth! It is a very toasty style that is sweet without being heavy. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne Buyer)
