2002 Peter Lehmann Clancy's Red Blend
Notes
90 points Wine Spectator: "A seductive style: polished in texture, lively with beautifully focused blackberry and currant flavors, shaded with touches of cedar and spice, lingering nicely. Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2008." K&L's notes - The Wine Spectator has twice selected Clancy's in its annual Top 100 wines, and this 2002 blend (54% shiraz, 29% cabernet sauvignon, 12% merlot and 5% cabernet franc) is another winner in the category of big, hearty Aussie reds. This wine shows a ripe, violet-laden bouquet and a soft, velvety palate full of plum and dark berry fruit. Aged for one year in a combination of new and used French and American oak, this red is more elegant than in years past thanks to the coolest vintage ever in recorded history for the Barossa Valley. Uncork one with take-out Indian food. You've got to try it to believe it.
