2001 Duckhorn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
90
Wine Advocate
Review Date: 06/2011The least expensive Cabernet Sauvignon is the outstanding 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa (which I assume was made from purchased fruit). It offers abundant aromas of white chocolate, black currants, loamy soil and hints of spice and earth. This textured, broad, simple Cabernet should continue to offer delicious, seductive drinking over the next decade. With nine separate offerings, all performing exceptionally well, Duckhorn Vineyards must be thrilled with the evolution of their 2001s. This is a terrific performance for these Duckhorn wines with most of them showing better than they did upon release - always a great sign. (RP)
