Wine has been made at this historic estate located just five kilometers from the Slovenian border since the 1600s. A bit more recently, this mostly white-wine-producing house has been honored in the Gambero Rosso for its top offerings, the Zuc di Volpe line. The 2002 Pinot Grigio, though not yet rated, promises more of the same--concentration galore, ripe apple, and peach stones, with hints of lemon peel and wet stone. Medium-bodied, with a good grip and a long, memorable finish.
