Situated on Pomerol's plateau, Château l'Évangile lies between Pétrus and Cheval Blanc, with vineyards rooted in gravel, sand and clay. The 1986 vintage predates Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite's acquisition of a majority stake in the estate in 1990.
