Decanter: "This wine has extraordinary concentration and power, with a deep, youthful aroma of plum and blackberry fruit overlaid with notes of mineral, peony, and leather and a distinctly savoury roast quality. The texture is still youthfully dense, tannic, and rich, with superb length and impressive complexity on the lingering finish. Drinking this wine 20 years after the harvest with collector friends, it had hardly seemed to evolve at all. Accessible now, it will only continue to improve for decades to come.
