1986 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Under Paul Avril's stewardship, Clos des Papes became a benchmark for traditional Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The estate has long favored a single red cuvée rather than a hierarchy of special bottlings, drawing on parcels scattered across the appellation.
