Praise from Neal Martin: "A lucid ruby hue with just a little ageing on the rim. The nose is intense with notes or ripe cherry, wild strawberries, a touch of damson, leather and sloes. Warm and quite sensuous. The palate is full-bodied, rounded and plump with smooth, polished tannins, although I cannot help but feel this is a more linear wine than the Chaumes 1989, perhaps rather gregarious and high-toned towards the finish."
