Bid on this 200ml bottle of 2000 Peller Andrew Peller Signature Series Vidal Icewine, a rare, aged Canadian icewine from Peller Estates, the Niagara Peninsula winery founded by Andrew Peller and a pioneer of Ontario’s world-renowned icewine tradition. Made from Vidal grapes left to freeze naturally on the vine and hand-harvested in the depths of the Canadian winter, then pressed while still frozen to yield tiny amounts of intensely concentrated juice, this Signature Series bottling is luscious and honeyed. More than two decades of bottle age have deepened it into a golden-amber dessert wine with dried apricot, candied peach, baked pineapple and orange marmalade, layered with honey, caramel, toffee and toasted nuts, while bright acidity keeps the rich, unctuous palate fresh through a long, sweet finish. A collectible, mature icewine to pair with foie gras, blue cheese or fruit desserts, or to enjoy on its own as dessert.
