Napa Valley Shafer Vineyards is an iconic family-owned winery, named one of the top 25 vineyards in the world by Wine & Spirits magazine and “One of the world’s greatest wineries” by wine critic Robert M. Parker, Jr. Bottled as magnums, this Sunspot vineyard release was made available to wine club members only. To commemorate the winery's 25th anniversary, only 25 barrels of wine were produced, sourced from 25-year-old vines. Richard Jennings writes for RJonwine.com: 92+ points "From magnum - dark maroon color; boysenberry, cassis, berry syrup nose; rich, creamy textured, syrupy, black cherry, black currant, blueberry palate with lowish acidity; medium-plus finish."
