06/1995Readers should be on the lookout for any of the tiny quantity (150 cases) of Stagliano Sangiovese. While extremely expensive, the 1994 is one of the more faithful and promising examples of Sangiovese from Napa. It reveals a spicy, cherry, new saddle leather-scented nose, good, tasty, round, soft fruit with enough acidity to provide crispness, and a medium-bodied, soft finish. (RP)
