1988 Soldera (Case Basse) "Intistieti" Toscana

Gianfranco Soldera established Case Basse in Montalcino in 1972, transforming a neglected rural property into one of Italy’s most uncompromising wine estates through meticulous Sangiovese cultivation, biodiversity-focused farming, and a philosophy of minimal intervention in the cellar. Intistieti was one of the estate’s original vineyard-designated bottlings, named for a parcel on the Case Basse property and produced from 100% Sangiovese, traditionally fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured for years in large Slavonian oak casks rather than the smaller new barrels embraced by many of Soldera’s contemporaries.
