Superripe aromas of dark berry preserves, roast coffee, violet and dark chocolate. Fat, dense, sweet and spicy; a real mouthful of chocolatey merlot. Finishes with huge, chewy but thoroughly ripe tannins and outstanding persistence. This is consistently one of Napa Valley's handful of great merlots. (ST)" (06/2000)
