Julien Fayard started small, honing his skills with rosé at his family's winery in Provence before moving on to the big time at Lafite Rothschild and Smith Haut Laffite in Bordeaux. That is until Napa came calling; first as director of winemaking for Philippe Melka (also a Napa valley transplant by way of Bordeaux and consultant on brands such as Hundred Acre and Cliff Lede, just to new a few) and now as consultant on a number of highly visible brands himself.
