Barton & Guestier traces its history to 1725, when Irish wine merchant Thomas Barton established a wine-trading business in Bordeaux, later joined by Daniel Guestier in a partnership formalized in 1802. One of Bordeaux's oldest continuously operating wine merchants, the company produces wines from several of France's celebrated appellations, including Margaux in the southern Médoc. Its Margaux is a traditional Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, sourced from gravelly vineyard soils and aged in French oak to develop complexity, structure, and elegance.
