From a site that performed brilliantly in 2018, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon raised in plenty of new French oak. Its dense purple color is followed by a monster of a wine that has full-bodied richness and depth as well as plenty of tannins, structure, and acidity, which isn't always common for this site. Offering a rich, primordial bouquet of blackcurrants, scorched earth, tobacco, and graphite, it has an incredible sense of minerality and it's your usual sexy To Kalon. It's mostly potential at this point and needs to be forgotten for 4-5 years, but it's a gorgeous, layered, complete wine that's going to evolve for 20-30 years.
