Originally planted with Zinfandel vines in 1923, the winery became known for its dry-farmed, head-pruned vineyards and jug wines. Over the decades, it expanded production, adding Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon in the 1960s. By the 1990s, Pesenti wines gained recognition for quality. In 2000, Turley Wine Cellars acquired the estate, continuing its legacy of producing world-class Zinfandel.
